“Have a seat”, “Take a seat”, “Sit down”, “Be seated” – What’s the difference?

Example:

A: Please have a seat.

B: Nah, thanks. I won’t be long. I just wanna see how ya doin’.

I was asked if there’s any difference between “please sit down” and “please be seated”. Actually, the only difference between those expressions is in the tone you use when you’re speaking; whether you’re “telling” (ordering) or “asking” (requesting) someone to sit.
